I have a silver medal, Great retro bright, 6-foot Christmas tree since the 1960s - he bought on eBay at an antique store. I have the cool spinning, 4-wheel color that makes glow. (Admit it, you old people know exactly what I mean!) It was not too expensive for a decorative item, but it would be horribly expensive as a toy cat.

My question for you: How your cat in front of one of these trees? Did they wild? Disdain it? Fear it?

My fuzzy monsters were fairly well behaved these last two Christmases when we had a reduction of pine.There was a drama with the ornaments on lower branches, but that's all. Well, the tree does not have the smell of pine, so the smell from the outside will not attract them. The reflection of the aluminum tree itself is not as attractive as the long tinsel hanging from a tree either.

The brightest objects in the tree might attract, but I do not think you be taking any more chances than you would with a pine Christmas tree. If you are worried, you can do like me a Christmas and attach it to a stairwell or something else solid.If you use the fishing line, it will not run. (And put unbreakable bulbs on the bottom of the tree.)

BTW I like the idea of the tree overhead.

My son will have a blast this year at Christmas. Is this the only time he is allowed to hunt the cats with a flyswatter. Not just my cats fall decorations, try eating Christmas lights or if they are in the mood to be too ambitious and mischievous they will climb the damn thing and try to attack another. (it's a fake tree)
