Nintendo 's Wii has been one of the most profitable gaming consoles ever sold, and after its launch in 2006, Nintendo has taken months to satisfy the pent-up demand. This has enabled the company to charge a premium price for the equipment, and make huge profits while competitors such as Sony and Microsoft lose money on every machine they sell.
